I put it to work once or twice every week and it does wonders. The amount of dust it finds is incredible. I take good care of it, having read once or twice through the irobot forums to get some basic info.

There was once snag, though. The teeth of its side brush broke and i had to buy a replacement but that was the only problem in a year and a half.

I can only say it's a great device and it does what it advertisements say. It you're even a little bit tech savvy go and get it now.

I took one star off for the broken brush and the lousy customer support which luckily i didn't need, yet. Also, i wouldn't recommend it for someone without any technical know-how.

This 4-star rating is based entirely on my success in storing bananas at room temperature, and not on results with other refiger. or non-refiger. foods. The G. Bags work great to slow down the ripening of bananas . I estimate that they make a banana taste OK for at least 3 more days than usual, maybe even for 6 or 7 more days, depending on how firm and sweet, etc., you want them to be.

Apples kept in the fridge in Green Bags seem to stay good longer than in plain, clear bags. How MUCH longer, I can't judge.


The main disadvantages for us:

-The sharp ends of the banana stems occasionally tear a hole in a bag. But I can quickly patch the hole with a piece of "package sealing tape", or "Scotch" tape.

-The green color of the bag makes it a bit harder (compared to an uncolored, clear bag) to see how green or yellow/ripe the bananas are, without opening the bag to look inside. As a result, my super-busy wife seems to eat fewer bananas than before. So I have taken to trying to remember to always leave 1 or 2 bananas outside a bag, so she will quickly see & grab one.

-Do the bags help greatly with other veg.'s & fruits? (WARNING: LONG, run-on sentence follows!) For stuff we refrigerate, I'm not certain, and in any case I can't test them for a decent period of a month or 2, because my wife, who does the shopping, hasn't transferred the stuff from the clear bags from the store, into D.M.'s Green Bags, and because I haven't made the effort to do it promptly myself, and even if I did, I'm not the one who "cooks" w/ the celery, clementine oranges, lettuce, etc., for the week or 2 or 3 in which the food either stays good or goes stale.

I like the idea of the product, but I find two major problems with it.. First, after I took the first pad off, I've now tried 5 new pads and the first pad basically gunked up the velco so bad that nothing will stick to it now.. I've tried cleaning off the velcro, but it's basically just dirt cheap velcro. So now I put the pad on the floor and push it around with out sticking.. Can't tape it it (this gets wet, remember).. Second, I find out that my heavy duty rechargable batteries only last about 4 days.. Maybe a sum total of 15 minutes of mopping time and a few minutes of actually spraying time.. It seems like there is a serious current leak in this pump system...

I've used it about a dozen times now and I'm throwing it away... It's a good product idea, but I must have gotten a bad one since others have had better luck because this was a pure waste of money.. First, If you happen to check some of my recent reviews you may see a bunch of 5 star reviews. Believe me I'm hyper critical of items I buy, BUT "I research these items to death" and luckily most of the time I get the best one...at least for me. So now to the review.

I have been using Pur Filter Pitchers for years. Water always tasted great from Pur, BUT they ALWAYS clogged BADLY after minimal use. My latest Pur Pitcher after about 5 weeks of use would take almost 3 hours for the water to finally fully filter thru..that's nuts! This time I checked Consumer Reports..and found this Clear2o rated #2 by a point or 2 next to a $100-ish pitcher. Pur and Brita were at least 30-40 points DOWN from THIS Clear2o. Turns out Consumer Reports seems to have gotten this one right. WOW, after about 60 seconds..you have great tasting water totally filtered and ready to use, I think NINE cups!. As the Clear2o uses pressure from your faucet..even at the end of the filter's life span you can still expect a full pitcher of filtered water in 60 seconds or less. Compare THAT to 3 or more hours on a Pur. The filter has an indicator of green, orange, and red, so you will KNOW when it's time to change the filer, no more guessing!

Consumer reports also says the Clear2o filters yearly cost are about 1/2 of Pur...not sure about Brita. The Clear2o most importantly supposedly is a BETTER filter than Pur and Brita as to what it will filter out. So you get super fast filtering that is superior to Brita and Pur and it will never slow down till you replace the filter.

My only criticism is the tube that attaches to he faucet is a bit short and not so soft as others mentioned. My first time attaching it, the pitcher tipped over, actually twice. But after a couple tries you get used to how to connect the tube...and I have to say it's actually fun to fill this thing! :) One other thing that you may or may not like..the spout on the Clear2o is rather wide..so water comes out FAST. Once you know this, it's fine..but you have to be a little more careful when pouring from this pitcher if you don't want to overfill your glass..etc.

All in all I am REALLY impressed with this Filtering system. Worst part is trying to FIND it in stores. I finally found mine in a Walmart..was about $11 on sale..a 3 pac of filters were $25 there.

This company Applica? Seems to be involved with some huge companies such as Black and Decker so I feel rather confident they will be around a long time, and hopefully the filters, pitchers, will be easier to find locally..even on Amazon.

Buying Pantry Moth Traps - Set of Two

UGH! We've developed a moth problem. It was a bag of birdseed. I didn't know what was happening! At first it was one moth... then two... three... SIXTEEN. I thought perhaps they were attracted to the light. Then, I noticed they had created cocoons on my coats in the back walkway. WHAT! NO, MOTHS! NOT THE COATS! But no, they weren't eating the coats. Plus, if I let this get out of hand, what comes after the spiders, RATS? My cat is too fat and lazy to hunt rats! Basically, I just don't want my house to turn into some sort of zoological phenomenon.

Needless to say, this little lady was peeved off. I declared war against the moths. I wanted to buy little moth-sized baseball bats and beat them senseless. I wanted to make the moths pay for all of the goodies I had to throw out of my pantry!

So I bought this trap. And it works pretty well, actually. I put it out about 4 days ago and we've caught 5 moths so far. I haven't seen any fluttering around the house and I'm quite glad about it. Unfortunately, the moths are still alive (4 days later). Even though I made a big deal about waging some great war on the moths, I sort of feel sad for the little guys when I walk near the trap and their little antennae are just a'goin', waving around as if to say "heeelp meee! heeeeeeeelp meeee!"

Having owned the highly rated Friedrich C90a, I am not new to air cleaners. Two years ago, I moved to another state by car, and didn't want to take that rather large air cleaner with me. I figured I could use a slimmer air cleaner this time, and thus bought this one.

Ordered one on Monday. Amazon shipped it on Tuesday. Fedex delivered it on Wednesday. Kudos to both Amazon and Fedex for fast shipping and delivery. Unfortunately, the unit itself is a joke compared to my old air cleaner when it comes to cleaning power. The fan has to be on high and the front panel has to come off for it to clean anything at all. There are only four tiny slits along the front cover for the air to move through. There is no way for the fan to suck anything through it on low power. You can test the cleaning power of your air cleaner by holding something really fine such as a small piece of lint/hair a few inches in front of the air filter and drop it down. If it gets sucked in, then your air cleaner is working as it should. If not, then you have a gloried fan. The odor sensor does work though.

Now let's look at the cost of operating this thing. On Amazon, a carbon filter cost $11.99 and it needs changing every 3 months. The main filter costs $59.99 and needs changing once a year. That's over $100 a year to operate this glorified fan.

This will help with the "crop circles" as my husband calls them. and 2) I place the bot on top of the towel so it wont get any excess water any place else.

Make sure you follow the instructions when it says the dirty tank is FULL empty it. Its easy! Dont let it go above or it WILL not suck up anymore water and wont alert you to this and when you go to pick up the bot you have a soaked area of water (and other spots). If this happens (you forget to empty the dirty tank) just empty the tank and then use the manual hose to suck up the water unless you want to run it through a cycle again. Which is fine too.

First off, I've purchased thousands of products online and never sat down to review one, even though I constantly tell myself I'm going to. Well, I finally made a purchase that disappointed me enough to do so. Here goes.

I drink a lot of water. I had been using a Brita filter for years and a friend told me about Zero Water after watching the infomercial, and he espoused all of the convincing reasons to try the Zero Water, which play on my personal paranoia of contracting some communicable disease or cancer from drinking water. My Brita filter was on its last legs, so score one more for Zero Water marketing -- I went and bought the pitcher from Target.

I must say, despite the initial negative reaction from the overall cheapness of pitcher itself and the super slow fill rate, the first few weeks were blissful. The water tasted great, and it came with a nifty little water tester. I went around and tested every water source I could find with the Zero Water tester. I tested my tap water, it read 400+ (I believe it measured Total Dissolved Solids in Parts per Million), when the normal range was supposed to be 200-300. Wow. I ran that water through my Brita filter, and it still read almost 300. For shame, Brita!! I tested bottled water, and it was still read between 50-80. The Zero Water pitcher produced amazingly clean tasting water that read "0" on their tester. I was extremely satisfied with this purchase....at first.

You see, since I figured I had been drinking water that was between 200-300 TDS for g0d knows how long, I figured that Zero Water's recommendation to change the filter once it read '6' TDS was way below my tolerance of probably 100-150, figuring that I could get more life out of these extremely expensive filters (by comparison to Brita). Boy was I wrong. *** AFTER ABOUT 4 WEEKS, THE FILTER BEGAN PRODUCING WATER THAT HAD A FISHY TASTE TO IT *** I thought something had gone bad in my fridge, I thought my dishwasher was ruining my cups....it took me a long time to believe that it had to do with the Zero Water pitcher. I was in denial. No matter what I did, I had to change the filter in this thing every 4-6 weeks because the water begins tasting bad. Only one other person lives with me, so it's not even like we drink the same amount as a family would, and we still have to replace it after a little over a month due to the taste. Sometimes it's fishy, sometimes it's bitter like a rotten lemon, but either way, this pitcher lets you know when its time to fork over another $15 for a filter by producing barely potable water.

I've owned this thing for a little over 6 months now, and I'm finally fed up (well, and I ran out of my surplus of filters). I'm scrapping this thing. Consumer Reports seems to rate the Clear 2o pitcher as their Best Buy. I'm going with that one.

Cool Water Tester (but, what is it actually testing?)

FISHY/BITTER/FOUL Taste to the Water after about 4-6 weeks

Pitcher capacity is really small (Two large cups of water, and you're refilling it....and only about half way because the reservoir is so small, due to the massive filter)

The *only* reason I didn't give this product two stars is that for that first 4-6 weeks, the water actually tastes really good. But, look at my list of negatives -- it outweighs any small taste factor (I mean, how *good* can water actually taste, anyway? It's frickin' WATER for god sake...).

Works great, easy set up, doesn't sound like a 747. It has lots of power. The extra pet attachment is great for upholstry even without a pet. I have all hardwood floors so can't tell you how it works on carpets. I think it would need a power nozzle to be most effective for carpeting.
One really nice feature is the telescoping wand. It makes it just the right height for comfort and then can reach those high, cobweb corners. The swivel nozzle can really get very flat for getting under low furniture.

I recomend, as soon as it starts to slip...change the belt, it will give the vacuum the best chance to operate the way it should and save frustration for you. I might even do it by time. Put a new belt on, if it starts to slip in two years, then next time in 20 months + or - put a new one on and save the headache of planning on running the vacuum to get ready for guests, etc. and finding out you have to stop and do that! These seal up nice and look great. I haven't had any bugs get into my cornmeal or anything else since I started using these. This size is perfect for the five pound bags of flour and sugar. When you wash them just remember to make sure all parts of the lid components are completely dry. I forgot to check once and the top layer of my sugar clumped from the little moisture that was left. It would be great if they had a spot to label on the top and sides but I found a sharpie and a piece of masking tape works fine. Also another improvement that would be nice would be if they had some sort of texture toward the bottom on the outside to help with gripping when picking up the container. These are not made to be picked up by the lid- the weight of the container will cause the seal to break. I experimented with this using water, so be sure to pick them up by the container. Initially, I was worried about losing all the special pictures and information included in our DVD cases. However, new DVD's have few extras and I'm not missing the space hog cases - I'm totally over it. We've eliminated six shelves of cases and taken two surprisingly heavy black bags for recycling. Like most, we bought lots of DVDs in the past. We've cut back because we download most for a single viewing and now only buy the ones we'll actually watch repeatedly. Space saving already!

Anyway, I've received four Bellagio-Italia binders. All have been well made, attractive, and in the long run they'll be a good investment (free shipping is a plus). Though I bought extra insert pages, I could only add one in each binder because the additional width impedes the closing and display on shelves. For me, one package of inserts is enough for eight binders - I can store up to 52 discs in each binder. After reading other reviews, I was worried about unwanted dust on the DVDs, but there's a plastic envelope top for each dvd slot which helps keep the dvd's clean, so there should be few problems - I've had none at all.

The binders are leather-like (similar to a good faux leather purse) and present a clean unobtrusive appearance in any room. The black with white stitching matches the TV, amp, DVD player, etc. nicely. They look good in a small space and since my book collection has greatly diminished, there are "books" in the bookcase. It's much better than the helter skelter look of DVD cases.

The product description on the website does not mention either the new attachment feature or the electronic indicator light, so I believed it was the other model. I returned the product for a full refund, however, Amazon did not refund the return shipping cost, which I believe it should have, since the product that arrived was not the one depicted or described.
