After doing lots of research (and considering all of the glowing reviews), I purchased this vacuum. Since the day I got it, I have been raving to everyone about just how wonderful it is. I have 2 shed-y dogs and hardwood & carpeted floors/ rugs in a 2500 sf house (of which I vacuum 1500 sf each day by necessity). I have always DETESTED vacuuming. However, when I first used this stick vac, that completely changed. I know it probably sounds bizarre, but now I actually look forward to vacuuming (with this stick vac, that is). It gets up every single thing---fur, hair, tracked-in particles from outside, etc.. I have a large black rug, on which my white dogs adore rolling about. I'm constantly amazed that it gets up EVERY piece of fur every day. And I've had it for two months. I've never had any kind of vacuum that did that...and I've had some pretty nice vacuums. ( Incidentally, my Roomba does an incredible job, as well, when I don't want to vacuum.) In summation, I really love it.
