We are very pleased with this filter. The part that screws onto the faucet is strong metal with a metal housing surround. It is much better made than the Pur filters I have repeatedly bought over the years and doesn't leak or have an easy way to break. It is also more compact and therefore doesn't get in the way of pots when I'm washing up. There may be a slight difference in taste with this filter as opposed to the pur filters. It's a tiny difference but would say that Pur might have the edge on taste.
