Ok, so I've had this bottle for exactly 3 days now and I LOVE it. It's stylish, doesn't leak, and insulates well. I have only used it with cold liquids but was interested in using it for hot as well.
I wanted to find out why the manufacturer states that it shouldn't be used for hot liquids. The scalding reason seemed insufficient since there are so many other similar Thermos products that can be used for both hot and cold.
Anyhow, here is the exact answer I received from customer service:
"Due to the mouth opening you can not control the volume flow of liquids.The hot liquids will also cause the gaskets to wear quicker and need to be replaced more often"
So, if you love ur hydration bottle and want the gaskets to retain their integrity, it's best not to use hot liquids inside!
By the way, Thermos customer service was wonderul as they responded to my email within a matter of hours.
