I purchased this iron in December 2008 and in January 2010 the iron just stopped heating. The iron also leaks water when its setting; was heating inconsistantly before dying altogether; cord gets twisted when ironing; and the iron is very heavy. Steam works good, but often times stains clothes because of "stuff" coming out the holes. They also have a one year warranty but you have to send it in to be repaired and pay the postage, which isn't cheap. Their customer service is awful! The company is in Germany which is probably why the customer service is so bad. I think there is major problems with the heating elements and Rowenta needs to figure out what the problem is. Stay away from this expensive $140 iron, and from all the reviews I have read, other Rowenta irons have a lot of defects as well.Get more detail about Rowenta DW9080 Steamium 1800-Watt Steam Iron with 400-Hole Platinum Soleplate.
