As a daily commuter on the wild and wooly highways around Washington DC I have tried at least a dozen travel mugs in my search for the elusive "perfect" vessel for my coffee. The search is now ended. Based on a review from Cooks Illustrated, I tried this mug and found nirvana - at least as close to nirvana as one can come while sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for a hundred miles each day.
The Thermax insulation in this mug keeps the coffee hot for hours. The top screws on tightly and does not allow drips even when the mug is inverted. I like the fact that the mug does not have a handle so you can grab it from any angle, and this feature is enhanced by the deep rim that allows you to sip from any angle as well. These features are key when you are driving and don't need to look at the mug to determine how to get a sip without spilling.
